We are here for God's purpose, and it is He who will fulfil that purpose as we cooperate with Him.
The Lord will fulfil His purpose for me; your love, O Lord endures forever.
When Helpers Move On
The evangelical church in Eldoret and the country at large recently lost a great servant of the Lord through death. As people poured out heartfelt feelings through eulogies, one such comment caught my attention: you taught us the Scriptures, taught us service and to love the Lord, but you never taught us how to live without you.
As we strive to play our part in God's mission, God brings some people our way whom some have referred to as destiny helpers. But to what extent should we place our hope and trust in these individuals, whoever they are?
Train Your Heart To Trust God
We should consider these people as God's servants whom He sovereignly brings our way to play a specific role in our lives for a season. Once they play their part, we may lose their support through death, transfer, or even their own change of heart.
We must train our hearts to know that we are here for God's purpose and that it is He who will fulfil that purpose as we cooperate with Him. When the agents He uses move on for whatever reason, our hearts must remain steadfast, trusting in the Lord.
