Spiritual maturity means learning to use the knowledge gained from God's Word to make decisions that please Him.
Teach me knowledge and good judgement, for I believe in your commands.
Growing Beyond Constant Questions
When children are young and learning to speak, they ask many questions. As we teach them and they grow, we expect the questions to decrease as they learn to apply the knowledge gained to obtain the answers and directions they need.
As I grow in my journey of faith, I realize God expects me to use the knowledge I gain as I interact with His Word to make godly decisions.
Judgement Formed By The Word
One troubling example for many married men is how to respond in a godly manner when your wife annoys you. If you keep taking guidance from non-Christian mentors rather than what God has been teaching you, something is very wrong.
I believe we are supposed to use the knowledge gained when we study the Bible, read good books, and fellowship with others, so that we respond in a way pleasing to God. That is the essence of David's prayer. May God teach you knowledge and good judgement.
