The phrase that captures my attention is my chosen instrument. Like all of us, God had a plan and purpose for Paul's life, and He is more than willing to reveal this plan. But what if Paul had decided to choose his own way? The answer is yes, that is possible.
The history of Israel is a great lesson. God chose them to be His instruments, yet they often stubbornly chose their own ways leading to misery and pain.

The main factor that influences our choices is cultural expectation and trend, despite the fact that our culture is fallen. We choose activities that elicit admiration and ease, while the inner witness may still scream that life is empty.
